Tyler Oman Obituary

Tyler Ted Oman

Tyler Ted Oman, 82, of Mt. Blanchard, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

He was born April 2, 1941, in Mt. Blanchard, to Domer D. and Dortha (Price) Oman. After Domer was killed in World War II, he was raised by his mother and stepfather, Ralph Cole. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol S. Alge, on Sept. 7, 1963, and she survives.

Tyler is also survived by three daughters, Robyn (Dana) Dilley of Mt. Blanchard, Valerie (Scott) Babb of Fostoria, and Kristina (Jason) Van Buskirk of Mt. Blanchard; grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Fatica, Chelsea (Jack) Whitmire, Devin (Emily) Dilley, Aaron Burch, Alise (Justin) Murray, Casey (Kevin) Shank, Cortney (Brayden) Moon, and Victoria Van Buskirk; 13 great-grandchildren that he was very proud of, Hunter Fatica, Wesley Whitmire, Stella Dilley, Chelsea, Amie, Brecken, and Davric Burch, Jaycee and Jolee Murray, Mason Babb, and Mason and Everly Shank; sister, Sharon Stuckey-McKenzie; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Todd Tyler Oman; parents, stepfather; and stepbrother, Lynn Cole.

Ted was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Blanchard High School and was an avid football and basketball athlete. He enjoyed playing in several adult basketball leagues. He was a Delaware Township Trustee for 28 years and served four years on Hancock County Sr. Fair Board. His favorite playtime was snowmobiling, often having to go north with friends to find snow. Tyler enjoyed following the extracurricular activities of all his grandchildren. His true calling, however, was on his land... the tractor in his fields farming several hundred acres of corn, beans, and wheat or hunting deer in the woods. He also held some livestock throughout the years, but planting and harvesting were his passion. He was a member of Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, and 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, until the time of Tyler's funeral at 11 a.m. at Crates Funeral Home, 620 North Main Street, Arlington. Pastor Brett Kelly will officiate. Internment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Mt. Blanchard.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church, 204 S. Main St., Mt Blanchard, Ohio, 45867, or Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Ln., Findlay, Ohio, 45840.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Bridge Hospice and Personal care as well as Interim Health with special thanks to Tammy for taking good care of Tyler.
