Thomas Walker Obituary

Thomas Jerome Walker

Thomas Jerome "Tom" Walker went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 17, 2025, while at home. Born September 5, 1934, in Hinsdale, Illinois, to the late Joseph and Laura Walker, Tom served in the U.S. Army, spending time in Korea and later being stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. On June 15, 1957, he married Virginia (Ginny) Hahn at First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs. After graduating from the University of Illinois in January 1961, they moved to Detroit, Michigan (6 years), Fort Wayne, Indiana (2 years), and Solon, Ohio (32 years) before relocating to Findlay, Ohio, in 2001. Tom spent his career working for several companies in the computer industry. He was gifted with numbers, record-keeping, and compiling and sharing family history, and he is remembered for his kindness and thoughtfulness towards all around him.

Tom is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ginny Walker; children, Robert (Carol) Walker, Hudson, Ohio, Susan (Mark) Lombardi, Seattle, Washington, and Dianne (Dave) Steinman, Findlay, Ohio; grandchildren, Chris (Kate) Walker, Jeni (Nathan) Mortier, Katie (Mike) Zappitella, Emily (Calvin) Kinney, Caroline (Drew) Schwartz, Michael (Erin) Lombardi, Megan Lombardi, Rachel (Jason) Staley, and Alex Steinman (fiance, Emily Bihl); and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sibling, Bill (Bonnie) Walker, Borrego Springs, California.

He was predeceased by brothers, John, Bob, and James.

Tom was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He accepted Christ as a teenager and was active in church activities throughout his life, serving as a deacon, an elder, and a member of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) for many years. He also enjoyed attending a number of Christian conferences and was a member of Living Hope Church.

Family and friends are invited to Living Hope Church, Findlay, Ohio, Saturday, June 21, 2025, for visitation at 10 a.m. and Celebration of Life at 11 a.m., followed by a brief internment at nearby Knollcrest Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.

Arrangements are being handled by COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Living Hope Church, Truth for Life @truthforlife.org or Westminster Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
