Sue Johnson Obituary

Sue Ellen Johnson

Sue Ellen Johnson graced this world with her presence for 77 years. After a short but valiant battle with cancer, Sue passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023, with her family by her side.

Sue is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Lloyd James Johnson Jr. They met in 1964 (two weeks before Sue graduated from Chillicothe HS), started dating two weeks later, and were a duo from that day forward. When Lloyd retired in 2000, they became inseparable as they traveled extensively having many adventures and bringing joy and laughter with them wherever they went.

Sue was a very active and engaged mom, and is also survived by her three children, Scott (Barbara) Johnson, Chad Johnson, and Jamie Johnson. Sue truly loved her children, but was over the moon for her five grandchildren, making sure to attend every game and event of each of them, Steph (Johnson) Cottrell, Christopher Johnson, Zach Johnson, Katie Robinson, and Tori Robinson. The last of her surviving family was her sister, Sarah (Gaul) Anderson.

Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Wyoma Rae Smith; father, William Russell Gaul; and brother, George Gaul.

The family will receive friends as they gather to share stories, laughter, and joyful memories from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, at Main Events, 314 N. Main St., Findlay. An internment of her ashes will be a family gathering at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue's memory would be appreciated by the family and can be made to Hancock Co Master Gardeners, 7868 Co Rd 140, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, Cancer Patient Services, 1800 N. Blanchard St. #120, Findlay Ohio, 45840, or Little Free Pantry, 1201 N. Main St., Findlay.

Our deepest sympathy to the family. Sue was a sweet person with a larger than life personality. We spent a lot of time getting together for drinks and had so many laughs. Also attended so many Whirlpool functions together. Great memories. Sue, you will be missed by many, we will never forget you.

My sympathies to the family! Sue and I met at Lifestyles for Ladies fitness center. We figured out that Lloyd knew my dad from work. She was a good person and I enjoyed seeing her from time to time around Findlay. May God give you all peace.

I am so sorry I couldn´t make it today, but my health is keeping me from it. I loved Sue and her friendship all through school and seeing her at the class reunions and kidding with her on FB. it is going to be so sad not being able to share our 58th anniversary together on FB. Same day, same time, across the street from each other on W. Main St.. I though a lot of your mother, and as I got older I became friends with your grandmother. They were so very much alike, two beautiful women. My love and sympathy to all of you, Sonnie Ankrom Young
