Steven Neiderhiser Obituary

Steven D. Neiderhiser

Steven Dale Neiderhiser, 69, of McComb, passed away at home as he wanted, peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024. He was born Oct. 1, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Wayne and Dortha (Butler) Neiderhiser.

Steven is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rebekah (Spallinger) Neiderhiser, whom he married June 18, 1983, at Ebenezer Mennonite in Bluffton; his children, Daniel Jason Neiderhiser of Findlay, Carla Rose Neiderhiser of Springfield, Oregon, Melissa Rena Neiderhiser, and Daryl Steven Neiderhiser, both of Columbus; his siblings, Keith (Shirley) Neiderhiser of Rocky Mt, Virginia and Marie (Olin) Rotenberger of Salyorsburg, Pennsylvania.

Steven was a 1974 graduate of McComb High School. He attended Northwest College of Business in Lima, after high school. He was a member of the Gideons Society and a member of Deweyville Church of God, McComb United Methodist Church, and Gateway EPC. Steven was known for his diligent work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. He worked for Whirlpool Corporation in Findlay and later ran his own transportation business as a semi-truck owner-operator. He also took on the unique venture of raising ostriches for a time.

He loved cars, going to car shows, as well as working on and customizing them. He loved Jesus and was a loving husband and father. He liked to talk and make friends with everyone he met. He enjoyed track and field, archery, going to the shooting range, Bible studies, and warmer weather.

Above all, Steven was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He was very outgoing and had a way of engaging with everyone he met as if they were old friends. His loyal nature meant that he was always there when someone needed him-steadfast, wise, and ready with words of clarity when decisions had to be made.

After bravely battling cancer for eight years, Steven is now at peace, resting in the arms of the Lord. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, and his memory will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

His visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at Gateway Church, 620 N Main St, Findlay, Ohio 45840. A funeral service celebrating Steven's life will be at 11 am Saturday at the church, with Pastor Robert Tansill officiating. Private burial at McComb Union Cemetery will occur at the family's convenience.

The family requests donations be made to either Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Gideons International or Gateway Church. If you are still inclined to send flowers, they may be delivered to the church from 3-5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2024.

I was looking through my family photo album, and I found pictures of Steve and his mom and dad I took when I was out on the farm. I thought well I will give Steve a call, and see if he wants these family pictures. I was so shocked to hear he had passed on. My condolences are with your family. Steve was truly a man of God, and he had a great testimony. If you would like these pictures of Steve, and his parents I would love to get them to you. You can just e-mail me. Again my condolences.
