Stella Blake Obituary
Stella Rae Blake, 91, of North Baltimore, passed away at Briar Hill Health Campus in North Baltimore Sunday, November 24, 2024. She was born May 21, 1933, to the late James C. and Geneva (Bennett) Copus in Jackson Twp., Wood Co. She was a 1951 graduate of Jackson Township High School, Hoytville. She married Robert G. Blake on Dec. 1, 1951 and he preceded her in death Feb. 6, 2018. She is survived by three children, Robert (Arunee) Blake Jr. of Cygnet, Patricia (Ted) Long of North Baltimore and Melody (Mark) Drewes of Custar; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Annie) Long, Michael Fausey, Joshua Long, Adam (Zoey Tucker) Fausey, Darcy (Tyler) Krassow, Tyler (Whitni) Drewes and Chase (Laura) Drewes; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, James, David, Joe and Ed Copus; and seven sisters, Jessie Brumbaugh, Dorthea Williams, Frances Copus, Helen Haas, Mildred Williams, Ruth Johnson and Catherine Myers.
She retired from Honeywell after 30 years of service in 1991. She will be remembered for her quick wit and energy, as she was "always on the go." Stella dedicated time to her grandchildren especially with sleepovers and supporting them at their sporting events.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore and for one hour prior (10-11 a.m.) to the service Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Baney will officiate and burial will follow at New Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorials can be directed to Flag City Honor Flight or a charity of the donor's choice.

o Stella...my mother Norene and you were a dynamic duo...tripping to Vegas ...as a kid I called you Kowalski from Streetcar named Desire...you were so colorful and boisterous...my mother
really enjoyed you and so did I ...and your hearty laugh...hope you & Rene are rocking the slots-in-heavenly splendor...you passed on same day (24th)but you have 17 years on her...try and take it easy now...rest well...
