Stanley R. Howell

Stanley R. Howell, 87, of Wharton, died at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center Sunday, December 21, 2025. He was born December 20, 1938, in Oak Hill, to the late Wilbert and Beatrice (Jenkins) Howell. He married Brenda Ellcessor June 13, 1965, they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Surviving are daughters, Rhonda (Rob) Maloney, Westerville and Jennifer (Fred) Sanders, Westerville; a son, Ronnie (Misti) Howell, Upper Sandusky; grandchildren, Renee, Robert, Rachel Maloney, Alex, Kyle and Emma Sanders, and Lainie Howell; great-grandchildren, Roman and Millie Mollaun and Easton Maloney.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Howell and sisters, Marilyn Siders and Shirley Conley.

He graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1957 and was a veteran of the National Guard. Mr. Howell was a member of Wharton First Church of God, where he served as a Trustee, Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Howell had been employed by the former Parker Hannifin, now UAP. He enjoyed the outdoors, deer and turkey hunting, and fishing in Canada and Indiana. He sang in gospel music groups, Glory Land Singers, Living Water, and Blue Grass Gospel.

His funeral service was Friday, December 26, 2025, at Wharton First Church of God with Pastor David Odegard and Pastor Derek Pryer officiating. Interment followed at Wharton Richland Union Cemetery, Wharton.
