Shirley Lue Schleucher

Shirley Lue (Ashcraft) Schleucher, 90, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, at Bridge Inpatient Hospice Care Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Shirley was born June 27, 1935, in Celina, to the late Lehr and Ruby (Faris) Ashcraft. After graduating from Mendon High School in 1953, she married Donald Eugene Schleucher, August 1, 1954. They were married for 66 years until July 31, 2020, when Don passed away.

Surviving Shirley are her two sons, Douglas (Carol) Schleucher of Bluffton and Terry Schleucher (Vicki Rosebrook) of Findlay; her five grandchildren, Kyle Schleucher of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Katie Perkins of Perrysburg, Todd (Erika) Schleucher of Lewis Center, Jeremy (Kaylee) Schleucher of Findlay and Emma (Jeff) Colland of Indianapolis, Indiana; as well as eight great-grandchildren, Lydia, Karis, and Robin Schleucher, Kale and Crew Perkins, Emily Schleucher, and Aubrey and Josephine Schleucher. Shirley is survived by her sister, Wanda Beougher of Celina.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Pamela Schleucher.

After raising her children, Shirley worked for the Hancock County Treasurer for 17 years, retiring in 1996 as the Deputy Treasurer. She was a member of St. Paul's Church, where she taught Children's Sunday School, served as a trustee and worked on various committees. She was also a volunteer at Findlay-Hancock County Public Library. Shirley was an avid reader, loved working puzzles, and adored her dogs, especially her last buddy - Cinnamon.

The family would like to thank Sunrise Assisted Living and Bridge Health and Hospice for the quality care she received from each of them. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date in honor of Shirley.
