Sheri Iliff Obituary

Sheri Lin Iliff

Sheri Lin Iliff, 64, of Findlay, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 9, 2025, and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born October 30, 1960, in Bluffton, Ohio, Sheri was the cherished daughter of Larry and Raeleen Greenawalt. She spent her life in Findlay, where she built a legacy of compassion, faith, and service.

Sheri was the beloved wife of James Iliff for nearly 43 years. Their love story began when they were just 15 years old, and together they raised two sons, Caleb and Josiah, in a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering faith. Sheri dedicated her career to the University of Findlay, where she worked in the President's Office. Her impact on the campus community was profound-she was known for her kindness, her listening ear, and her ability to lift others up. Many students credit Sheri with helping them stay in school and graduate, simply because she took the time to care.

She was a woman of deep faith, whose love for God guided every aspect of her life. Sheri shared the good news of Christ with countless people, and her spiritual strength never wavered, even in her final days. Her beautiful singing voice graced both her church and her home, a reflection of the joy she found in worship. Sheri was known for her incredible cooking and unmatched baking skills, her love of nature, and her joy in spending time with family. Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother whose love for her family was the foundation of everything she did. She had a heart full of compassion, always ready to help anyone in need. She found beauty and meaning in the small things-whether it was a quiet moment outdoors, a shared laugh, or a simple act of kindness. Her smile was radiant and ever-present, and her laughter brought comfort and light to those around her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Sheri will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives she touched.

A celebration of Sheri's life will be from 12-3 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay.

What a loss the world has experienced in the loss of Sheri. She was a delightful, caring, and compassionate person. Knowing and working with her at UF allowed me the privilege of getting to know her. She was a consummate professional. Sheri will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. My heartfelt condolence to the Iliff family.

Jim, Caleb and Josiah I am so sorry to hear of Sherri´s passing. We were so shocked. I have so many memories of sweet Sherri. She was a friend to us when we first moved to Findlay. I will always remember the meals we shared and her delicious Stromboli as well as her sacrifice to watch our sons when the youngest was born and her vibrant faith and strength in Jesus. Our prayers and love are with you all. May God comfort you as only He can and may He bring you peace and strength for today and the days ahead. Our hearts ache for you but rejoice with hers as her faith is now sight
