Scott Moorhead Obituary
Scott Allen Moorhead, 83, of Leipsic, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, at The Meadows of Ottawa.
He was born June 11, 1940, in Findlay, to George and Jean (Galloway) Moorhead, who preceded him in death. He married Barbara Utendorf on Aug. 12, 1967, and she also preceded him in death April 6, 2023.
Scott's survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Moorhead of California and David (Angela) Moorhead of Livonia, Michigan; three grandchildren; brother, George (Susan) Moorhead of McComb; nephew, Eric (Liz) Moorhead of Findlay and their children, Micah Moorhead, Emma Moorhead, and Connor Ebanks; and niece, Chelsea (Bud) Haselman of Ottawa and their children, Asher, Titus, Ezri, and Theo Haselman.
Scott retired in 2008 as a Grain Elevator Manager for Land of Lakes. He also worked for Leipsic Fire Department for 24 years and Leipsic Council for 16 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, and Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Scott enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Parish Life Center, Leipsic.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.

I came to admire Scott in the years he ran the Cairo Elevator. He and I were friendly competitors in those years. I found him to be a man of honor and integrity. Though we had lost touch, I was saddened to see that he had died. My heart goes out to his family at this season.
