Sandra Bunting Obituary

Sandra Sue Bunting

Sandra Sue Bunting, formerly of Findlay, passed away in Toledo, Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Born Sandra Sue Tasker in Hillsdale, Michigan, January 28, 1949, she was raised by her grandmother until age 4, when she was afflicted with polio. Sandi was then adopted by Dr. George and Helene Koepke in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sandi graduated from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School and attended Eastern Michigan University.

Sandi married Air Force MSG Bradley Hitt. He died in a flight accident. Later, she married Lloyd "Red" Bunting, who preceded her in death.

Sandi is survived by her daughter, Heather Hitt; grandchildren, Shayle Urich, Alyssen Welch, and Kelsey Welch; four great-grandchildren; sister, Susan (David) Healy; niece, Mindy (Matt) Alic; nephews, Rob (Missy) Healy and Lance (MaryBeth) Healy; and brother, Roy Lange.

She was also preceded in death by grandson-in-law, Matt Urich; sister, Sharon White; and her parents, George and Helene Koepke.

Sandi had a great love for her family and a great fondness for laughter. She en-thusiastically enjoyed mystery novels, Michigan football, music, dancing, and baking. There were constant requests for her baked cookies, pies and coffee cakes.

A private burial service will take place at First Presbyterian Church, Findlay.

In her memory, donations may be made to Foundation Park Alzheimer's Care, 1621 S. Byrne Rd, Toledo, OH 43614; First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St, Findlay, OH; or Care 360 Hospice, care360hospice.com.

Sandi and I had lunches together, gab sessions, were on church committees together.
She had a genuine smile and laugh. Even though we fell out of touch I thought of her often. She will be missed.
