Sally Ann Peterman

Sally (Rapp) Peterman died Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

Sally was born March 11, 1938, in Cleveland, to William C. and Margaret (Maley) Rapp. Sally was a 1956 graduate of Shaw High School where she was active in student activities. She met and married Russell J. Peterman in 1959 and they eventually settled in Findlay and enjoyed 60 years together.

Sally is survived by four children, John (Julie), Laura, Christine (Bev), and Michael (Jana); grandchildren, Jeff, Kathy, Amy, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Cameron, Dominic, Jocelyn, and Jacob; and sisters, Patricia (Edward) and Eleanor (Walter).

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; sister, Kathleen Wise; and brother, William Rapp.

Sally enjoyed swimming, dancing, walking in parks and nature, a good garage sale, antiques, attending church, and fellowship with her good friends. She was a master gardener and superb baker. We will miss her yearly planting of colorful annuals, blueberry pies, lemon bars, cakes with seafoam frosting, and loaves of fresh baked bread and buns from scratch. Most of all, we will miss her kindness and ever-present sense of humor and sarcastic wit, all of which remained with her even in her last days.

Most dear to her heart was advocacy for those with mental health illnesses and challenges. She believed in lifelong leadership, continuity of learning, and contribution to community. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Findlay and believed in her heart that God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead to provide for her salvation.

The family wishes to thank Birchaven Village for their years of loving care for Sally. She appreciated and was so grateful for their kindness, care, and attentiveness to her special needs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Sally's name to a charity of your choice, First Baptist Church of Findlay, or City Mission in Findlay.

Sally's celebration of life will be at First Baptist Church of Findlay at a later date.
