Russell C. Gordon

Russell C. Gordon, 81, passed from death to life Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He was born March 15, 1942, in Tippecanoe, Indiana, to Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. Gordon. He was a pastor in the Brethren denomination for 50 years, serving churches in Ohio, Kansas, Florida, Indiana, and Illinois. He also spent time as Director of Home Missions for the Brethren Church and chaplain with the Fort Scott, Kansas Police department and Manatee County Sheriff's department.

Russell was a loving and committed husband to Sherrie (Humphrey) and father to Ryan and David. He is remembered by his wife and sons; two daughters-in-law; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; mother; brother; and countless others who knew and loved him.

Russell's funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Williamstown Brethren Church. Burial will follow at Dunkirk Cemetery.
