Roy William "Bill" Schiltz

Roy William "Bill" Schiltz, 83, of Findlay, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born April 24, 1942, to the late Howard and Velma (Romick) Schiltz. He married Sue Ellen Tate and she preceded him in death December 4, 2025.

Bill is survived by his son, Charles "Chuck" (Wendy) Schiltz; grandchildren, Logan (Josh Tavenier) Schiltz, Jenna (Zach Altvater) Schiltz, and Ross Schiltz; stepgrandchildren, Justin (Lisa) Jolliff, Max (Avery) Jolliff, and Will Jolliff; great-grandchildren, Preston and Olivia; stepgreat-grandchildren, Archer and Molly; and siblings, Thomas (Marcia Loparo) Schiltz, Martha (Dennis) Powell, Mary Jo (Marion) Rader, Larry (Cindy) Schiltz, and Daniel (Fran Mullins) Schiltz.

He was preceded in death by his son, James "Jimmy" Schiltz; and sister-in-law, Linda Schiltz.

Bill graduated from Findlay High School in 1961. He worked at Cooper Tire for 39 and a half years and retired from there. In his free time, Bill enjoyed playing and watching golf. He got to meet Arnold Palmer once and often retold the experience. Bill also spent time fishing and was a huge movie buff. He was a collector of movies and had hundreds of DVDs. Bill especially loved western and gangster films.

A Celebration of Life for Bill will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Crates Life Appreciation Center, 219 W. Sandusky St., Findlay. Pastor Deb Dickerson will preside. Arrangements are being handled by COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made in Bill's honor to College First Church of God, 1100 N. Main St., Findlay.
