Rodney Kent Richards

Rodney Kent Richards, 78, of Findlay, passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at The Heritage. He was born Sept. 30, 1943, in rural Carey. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Jennifer Jean (Moorhead) Richards, who he married June 25, 1967.

Rodney is survived by daughters, Rachelle R. (Bob) Black and Nicole R. Richards, both of Findlay; four grandchildren, Melissa Apple, Heather Black, Sarah Black, and Keith "Kai" Roberts III; and three great-grandchildren, Bladen Black, Alexander Apple, and Lillian Apple. He was also preceded by his parents, Francis and Margaret (Hunter) Richards; brother, Robert Richards; and son-in-law, Keith "Kit" Roberts Jr.

Rodney was a graduate of Upper Sandusky (Salem) High School, Bluffton University, and The University of Findlay. He began as a teacher, a supervisor at Bargain City/Rink's/Cook's, and then finished his career as an estimator for Myer's Painting. He attended First Baptist Church and served as financial secretary and choir member.

Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 205 West Sandusky Street, Findlay. Rodney's service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, officiated by Senior Pastor Michael Maskell.
