Robert Drake Obituary

Robert J. Drake

Robert Jay Drake, 65, of Findlay, passed away April 14, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Tiffin to Ralph W. and Mayo L. (Cook) Drake on September 10, 1959.

Robert was a Bettsville Local School graduate. He attended Triune College, where he earned an associate degree in design. He then obtained his associate degree in mechanical engineering from Owens Technical College and a bachelor's degree in business management from Bluffton University.

Robert attended Parkview Christian Church, where he served as an Elder. He was a member of Millstream Carving Club and Mt. Blanchard Gun Club. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing, and golfing. Robert also enjoyed watching football. He had a strong affection for his pets. Robert worked as a manufacturing process engineer at General Dynamics and obtained nine tire design patents with Cooper Tire and Rubber Company.

Robert loved his family and was affectionately known as "Tall Man" and "Gramps." He loved to sing.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Joyce; children, Ellen R. (Erin) Drake Winfree of Sidney and Daniel S. (Teri) Drake of North Baltimore; grandchildren, Grant S. Drake, Garrett D. Drake, and Sage J. Drake, all of North Baltimore; and sister, Kay Ann Drake of Fostoria.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

Friends and family may visit from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). An additional visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at Parkview Christian Church, his funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. with Pastor Joel Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery.

Memorial contribu-tions in Robert's name may be made to Parkview Christian Church, 15035 OH-12, Findlay, Cancer Patient Services, 1800 N. Blanchard St., Suite 120, Findlay, or Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, 45840.
