Robert Lee "Bob" Boulis Sr.
Robert Lee "Bob" Boulis Sr., 86, passed gently from his earthly life Monday, March 20, 2023.
He was born Aug. 7, 1936, in Findlay, the son of Harold Woods Boulis and Marilyn Marguet Boulis.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Patricia "Patty" B. Struck (Keith) and Barbara Anne B. Roth (David); daughter-in-law, Beverly Boulis; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Rayle (Danny); and many extended family members and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara Deter Boulis; and son, Robert Lee Boulis Jr.
Bob began his career working with the FBI in the finger printing section. For many years in Virginia, Bob worked and retired from Fairfax County Police Department. He also worked as a magistrate for the state of Virginia. Toward the end of his working career, Bob and Barbara moved to North Carolina where Bob retired from NC Department of Corrections. He was a man of excellent work ethics and many talents.
Bob was a loyal member of St. Mary's Episcopal-Lutheran Church in
Burgaw, North Carolina. He was also a member of King Solomon Lodge No. 138 A. F. & A. M. where he served as a Past Master.
Bob celebrated his life to the utmost fullness. He was continuously living life with kindness and strength beyond measure. He saw each day as a gift, seeing the good in every situation, grateful for everything and expecting nothing in return. Bob served his country in U.S. Army National Guard.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, in the Parrish Hall at St. Mary's Episcopal-Lutheran Church followed by Bob's memorial service at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Cheryl Brainard will conduct the service. Following the memorial service, he will be placed in the columbarium at Riverview Memorial Park.
