Richard Wolford Obituary
Richard C. Wolford Sr. of Findlay passed away Friday, March 6, 2026. He was born in Arlington, Ohio, to the late Carl E. and Luella S. (Hartman) Wolford July 14, 1936. On June 8, 1957, he married Mary Lou Kistler, and she survives. Richard graduated from Arlington High School and, upon graduating from business school in Columbus, was employed by Marathon Oil Company, retiring in 1991 as a senior computer programmer. He was also co-owner of The Sundry Shoppe and Wolford's Health and Gift Store. He collected vinyl records, amassing over 28,000 LPs, and was the former proud owner of a white-on-blue 1957 Chevy. Richard and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially exploring the back roads to the west coast and visiting their vacation home in North Fort Myers, Florida. He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randal D. Wolford; brothers, Alan and Ronald; and a great-grandson, Theodore Wright.
Mr. Wolford is survived by his wife; sons, Richard C. (Jody) Wolford Jr., Robert A. Wolford, and Rodger B. Wolford, all of Arlington; daughter, Renee E. (William) Fredette of Florence, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Angie Wolford of Arlington; and a sister, Leila Gossman of Arlington. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren, Amanda (Jake) Leu, Erica (Gideon) Fisher, Benjamin Wolford, Bradley (Amelia) Wolford, Ashtin Wolford, Jacob Wolford, Jaeda (Kenny) McKean, Jason (Emily) Wolford, Bret (Cana) Wolford, Matthew Wolford, Anthony Wolford, Victoria Wolford (Craig Conley), Vanessa Wolford (Jonathan Unverferth), Elijah Fredette, Elody (Jake) Wright, Edy (Kaleb) Frontz, and Ezra Fredette; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service for Richard will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington, where the family will receive friends from noon until the time of service. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
Memorial contribu-tions can be made in memory of Richard to a charity of the donor's choice.
