Richard Laube Obituary

Richard A. Laube

Richard Allen Laube, 71, of Findlay, passed away peacefully and into the hands of Jesus on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, with his family by his side.

Known by most as Dick, he was born May 27, 1953, in Wyandot County to John Eugene (Gene) and Jane (Haferd) Laube.

Dick was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, attending Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic School into the fourth grade when the family moved to Wauseon, Ohio. A year after returning to Findlay in the summer of 1971, Dick graduated from Findlay High School Class of 1972.

He began his lifelong career with Great Scot in 1973, working at most of the area Great Scot stores throughout his employment. He retired after 38 years of dedicated service. He was also part of the team and a valuable asset to his brothers at Laube's Cycle City in the mid 1980's. Friends and co-workers close to him soon realized the exceptionally kindhearted and special person Dick was.

Dick was an avid baseball fan attending many Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians home games. Additionally, he had a lifelong passion for football, rarely missing a Green Bay Packers televised game. Most that knew Dick well would agree he was a Packer Backer and Cheesehead way before it was considered cool. Dick also enjoyed the 60s and 70s rock and roll bands, attending original artist and numerous tribute band concerts.

Regardless of what event he attended, whether it was sports, music or a family gathering, Dick was the happiest when in the company of his girlfriend, Sandy Neumeister, from Upper Sandusky. They recently celebrated 28 years together.

Dick is survived by his father, John E. "Gene" Laube; two brothers, Denny (Jodee Philo) Laube, and Dave "Weeb" (Deb) Laube; and sister, Carolyn Heitmeyer; nephews, Michael (Chrissy) Shade and Steve (Grace) Shade; and two great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jane (Haferd) Laube; infant twin brother, Charles Daniel Laube; older brother, John P. Laube; and brother-in-law, Mark Heitmeyer.

A private graveside service will take place at a later date. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with arrangements.
