Richard J. Bucher

Richard J. Bucher, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at his residence. Richard was born Nov. 7, 1935, in Bluffton, to the late Roy and Ruth (Blough) Bucher. On April 22, 1955, he married Carol Frantz Bucher, who survives.

Richard graduated from Bluffton High School and was a life-long farmer. He was a member at St. John's United Church of Christ, Bluffton, where he served as a deacon and an elder. Richard loved big band music. He played trumpet in Lima Symphony Orchestra and Bluffton Community band, he sang at church, and in the choir, and played in St. John's Men's Quartet. Richard had served on Cory-Rawson School Board for 12 years and on Mt. Cory Volunteer Fire Department. Above all, he was extremely devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Richard attended all of his family's sports games and concerts.

Survivors include his wife, Carol J. Bucher of Mt. Cory; four sons, Dr. Rick (Julie) Bucher of Oxford, Ohio, Larry (Becky) Bucher of Mt. Cory, Timothy (Diana) Bucher of Findlay, and Mark (Malinda) Bucher of New London; grandchildren, Bradley Bucher, Ashley (Jeff) Scoles, Kate (Darrell) Byrd, Byron (Andrea) Bucher, Sarah (Rob) Davis, Alise (Jason) Krempa, Brittany (Zeke) Flegel, Nathaneal Bell-Pacat, and Brennyn Bell-Bucher; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Raeleen (Larry) Greenawalt of Findlay; and sister-in-law, Shirley Spaeth of Findlay.

Private graveside services will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery.
