Perry Patrick Fletcher
Perry Patrick Fletcher Sr., 89, of Findlay and formerly of Carey, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.
Perry was born March 10, 1933, in Knox, Indiana, to the late Leslie and Minnie Fletcher. He attended school in Huntertown, Indiana, and Vanlue High School.
Perry worked for 42 years for CSX Railroad as a control agent and traffic manager retiring in 1995. He was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Consolation Parish, Carey,, where he was active as a Eucharist Minister and Lecturer. He also attended St. Michael's Parish in Findlay. Perry took classes with Dioceses of Toledo working towards becoming a Deacon. Perry was active with Cursillo Movement and Knights of Columbus in Carey, where he served as a Grand Knight.
In Perry's free time, he could often be found playing golf with The Divots Golf Club and enjoying time with family and friends.
Perry will be missed by his children, Sheila (Mike) Turman of Colorado, Perry Fletcher Jr. of Arcadia, and Mark (Laurie) Fletcher of Carey; stepchildren, Keith Gibson and Dawn, and Jim (Deb) Gibson; daughter-in-law, Linda Fletcher; grandchildren, Jim (Cindy) Roberts, John (Jennifer) Roberts, Paige Terry, Tiffany (Jathan) Saltzman, Danielle (Jeremy) Gibson, Austin (Krystyna) Fletcher, Taylor (Austin) Van Zandt, Anthony (Chanelle) Fletcher, and Chase Fletcher; stepgrandchildren, Christopher Gibson, Jeremey Gibson, and Steven Higgbotham; numerous great-grandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren; siblings, James (Cindy) Fletcher, Betty Bellman, and Billie Bohanon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wives, Lois J. (McKernan) and Irene F. (Pratt, Gibson); son, Kevin Fletcher; infant daughter, Christine; stepson, Duane Gibson; and siblings, Corbin, Paul, Ernest, Forest, Malcom, and Nola Mae.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 West Findlay St., Carey. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay Street, Carey, with Fr. Tom Merrill, OFM Conv. presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey.
