Peggy J. Risner
Peggy J. Risner, 90, formerly of Findlay, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, April 29, 2023, at St. Catherine's Manor of Fostoria.
Peggy was born Aug. 1, 1932, in Seneca County, Ohio, one of two twin girls of Clarence and Esther (Benge) Bland. She was raised in McCutchenville where she graduated from McCutchenville High School in 1950.
Shortly following graduation, Peggy married the love of her life, Jerry G. Risner, on April 8, 1951. Together they shared 53 years of marriage and raised five children, Pamela, Gary, Karen, Preston, and Angela. He preceded her in death Jan. 9, 2005.
While her children were growing up, Peggy was a loving homemaker for Jerry and their family. Once her children were self sufficient, she took classes to earn her registered nursing degree from Marion Technical College in 1984.
For the majority of her career, Peggy worked as a registered nurse at Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky, over 20 years.
Peggy was a strong willed and independent woman who shared a special relationship with her twin sister, Patsy.
She is survived by five children, Pamela (Ron) Taylor of
Valencia, California, Gary (Patricia) Risner of Bascom, Karen (Shawn) Miller of Columbus, Preston (Tamria) Risner of Findlay, and Angela Risner of Michigan; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Deb (Larry) May of Tiffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Daniel Taylor; twin sister, Patsy Beaschler; and two brothers, Donald and Bill Bland.
Services honoring her life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine's Manor of Fostoria, and they may be sent to the funeral home.
