Peggy Berry Obituary

Peggy Louise Berry

Peggy Louise Berry, 72, of Findlay, went home to be with the Lord at 6:26 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.

She was born Dec. 18, 1950, in London, Kentucky, to James and Edith Riley. Peggy was married to Marcus Berry for 51 years.

Peggy is survived by two sons, Carlos (Sharon) Berry of Oakland, California, and Marlon (Danita) Berry of Massillon; two grandchildren, Braxton Berry of Cleveland and Timara Berry of Massillon; two brothers, Delbert Riley (Kerry) of Arlington, Virginia, and Richard (Alice) Riley of London, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marcus; five brothers; and a sister.

After marrying Marc in Jellico, Tennessee, Peggy relocated to Findlay in 1972. In addition to her responsibilities as a wife and mother, Peggy worked at Findlay Industries, Hills Department Store, RCA, and Paper Tech, where she retired in 2013. Peggy, a loving devoted wife and mother, thoroughly enjoyed and supported her sons and grandchildren in their combined sports activities. Their participation in those organized sports began in preschool and continued throughout high school and college. Peggy was definitely an avid fan of The University of Findlay's football and basketball teams along with the Cincinnati Bengals. She also enjoyed reading and working in her flower garden.

Additionally, Peggy rededicated her life to Christ and served faithfully at Bethel Baptist Church. In 2004, the Lord directed her path to Faith Hope Love Christian Church, Bowling Green, where she continued her faith journey.

Peggy will surely be remembered for her humility and kindness to everyone.

Peggy's funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Burial will be at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, and 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hope and Love Christian Church, Bowling Green.

My condolences to the family.. Peggie was a wonderful person it's been years since I saw her but when I moved to Findlay in 83 Peg and Mark became one of my friends and treated me like family. May she rest in peace.
