Paul retired from Chrysler Corporation after working there for over 30 years in Toledo as a setup man and as Chaplain for Truck Stop Ministries at North Baltimore Petro Truck Stop, where he led over 1,700 people to Christ. He also served his country in the United States Army (Anti-Aircraft Artillery).
He was a man of profound Christian faith and unwavering love for Jesus Christ, went to be with his Savior, looking forward to seeing His face. Paul's life was a radiant testament to the transformative power and love of Jesus, touching countless lives with his story of faith and redemption.
Paul was a devoted husband, an amazing dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa who cherished his family deeply. Survived by six children, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, his legacy of love and faith continues through them. His life reflected the joy and strength of his favorite verse, John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." His sense of humor and love for sharing the Lord's message made him a beloved friend to everyone he met. He delighted in walking at the mall, where he'd engage in Bible studies, share his faith, and pray with friends and strangers alike. His passion for telling life stories was just one way he inspired others with his experiences and God's grace in his life.
His love for sports was evident, watching football, baseball, and golf. He was a fan of the Indians, Browns, and OSU Football, with his favorite player, #62 Ezekiel Mendez, on OGHS Football. He had a great appreciation for the outdoors, enjoying fishing, golfing, playing guitar, and even taxidermy, a testament to his many talents.
He was a man of diverse hobbies; Paul painted, played guitar, ukulele, banjo, and harmonica, and found joy in golfing. He also shared his love for fishing through his writing in Fostoria Review Times, contributing to the local fishing section. He enjoyed spending most of his time with Karen, Steven, Stephanie, San Juan, Ezekiel, Ellianna, Alyvia, and those who visited him.
Paul's life exemplified faith in the Lord. After his cancer diagnosis, he often spoke of his eagerness to see Jesus's face, showing his unwavering trust in God's plan. His story of redemption- a journey of the Prodigal Son's Father's forgiveness and coming back home- was a source of hope and inspiration, demonstrating the incredible, redeeming power of Jesus Christ. Paul's incredible journey of faith, talents, and dedication to sharing the love of Jesus will be remembered by all who knew him. His life was a beacon of light, love, and laughter, and he will be deeply missed. His biggest prayer was that his whole family and friends would come to know Jesus' true love and accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. In celebration of his life, let us honor his memory by sharing our faith, walking in love, and embracing the joy he so freely shared with the world.
