Nancy Jones Obituary
Nancy Jones, 76, of McComb, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by those she loved.
Nancy was born December 20, 1948, in Findlay, to the late Clayton and Laurabell (Grady) Jones. Nancy is survived by her sister, Janet (Steve) Kepling of McComb and a many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lewis Buckingham and Tommy Jones.
Nancy proudly served her country in the United States Army, where she rose to the rank of Sargent. Nancy was honorably discharged and retired from the United States Army in 1988. She was also a member of American Legion Post No. 511 in McComb. Nancy loved to travel. Her travels took her to Germany, Korea, France, Texas and Washington. Nancy will be remembered for her quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and the deep love she shared with those around her. She had a way of lighting up a room with her laughter and brought comfort with her caring nature.
A true people-person, Nancy enjoyed spending time with loved ones and sharing stories. Whether she was watching her favorite talk shows or getting lost in the wonders of Animal Planet, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a soft spot for animals and a genuine curiosity about the world around her.
Nancy also loved word searches, a good game of Yahtzee, and playing rummy, especially when it meant quality time and a bit of friendly competition. Her playful spirit and love for connection will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Per Nancy's wishes, her remains will be interred in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered in a private service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey.
