Michael R. Mike Powell

Michael "Mike" R. Powell, 73, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at The Meadows of Ottawa.

Mike was born November 24, 1952, in Bluffton to Raymond and Jean Ann (Klinger) Powell, who preceded him in death. On December 2, 1972, he married Beverly (Stephens) Powell, who survives.

He was a 1971 graduate of Bluffton High School and was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church since 1994. He dedicated 47 years to John Deere - Findlay Implement and was a proud Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Mike was a lifelong farmer who loved cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Powell; two sons, Jason (Sarah) Powell of Kalida and Ryan Powell of Bluffton; a grandson, Brantley Powell of Kalida; a twin brother, Gregory (Peggy) Powell of Bluffton; a brother, Terry (Cindy) Powell of Bluffton; and a brother-in-law, Richard Badertscher of Bluffton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Badertscher.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2026, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, with Pastor David Glick officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton, and one hour prior to service at the church.
