Michael McPherson Obituary
Michael L. "Mike" McPherson, 83, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born May 9, 1940, in Lima, to Alfred H and Olive June (McCarty) McPherson. He married Carolyn K. (Martin) McPherson on Aug. 10, 1963.
Mike is survived by a son, Steven (Jane) McPherson of Morral; daughters, Jennifer (Paul) DuBois of Upper Sandusky and Nanette (Joseph) Rinehart of North Dakota; grandchildren, Benjamin and his wife Jessica, Nathaniel, Matthew, Cynthia, Alexandra, Rachel, Joshua, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Finley, Lincoln, and Landon; and sister, Susan (James) Paul of Findlay.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol; grandson, Jonathon; and granddaughter, Elizabeth.
Mike graduated from Findlay High School and received his bachelor of science in accounting. He was a computer programmer and accountant for Wyandot Popcorn for 28 years. Mike served in U.S. Air Force reserves. He was a member of John Stewart United Methodist Church where he was active and kept books.
He was a member of Classic Car Club and Upper Sandusky Lion's Club where he served as Treasurer. Mike had a passion for trains and was a member of the Train Collection Association, NASG Train Club, COSG Train Club, and NOSG Train Club. He volunteered and kept books for the Upper Sandusky 8th grade Gettysburg trip for many years. Mike adored his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. They brought him joy. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren rides in the little red truck. Mike was a hero to his family especially his grandchildren and leaves behind his legacy of love.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Mike's graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at Old Mission Cemetery with Pastor Doug Pummell officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to John Stewart United Methodist Church or Carol McPherson Scholarship Fund in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
