Michael Burus Obituary
Michael Ray “Mike” Burus, age 51, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital in Mercer County. Michael was born August 1, 1973 in Lexington, Kentucky to Linda Gamble Burus of Lawrenceburg and the late John Edward Burus, Jr.
Mike was a former Maintenance Engineer with Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding four wheelers, dirt bikes, razors and rock crawlers. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Anderson County Sportsman’s Club. Mike loved nature and told others “Watching the World Wake Up in a Deer Stand” is the best thing in this world.
Including his mother Linda, Mike is survived by his daughter, Kennedy Elaine Burus of Danville, KY; his brother, Robert Grayson Burus and his wife Sheila of Lawrenceburg; the mother of his only child Kennedy, Stephanie Lynn Burus of Danville, KY; a nephew, Logan Grayson Burus; a niece, Gracie Marie Burus; Kennedy’s brother, Julian Dash True; and his life long best friend Jill Lynnette Shifflett of Harrodsburg.
No public services are scheduled. Mike chose cremation.

We lift up our Burus family in prayers right now! There are many memories John has of his cousin, especially riding four-wheelers and being outside playing all day except to come in to eat. I will never forget the day he got married in SC. Mike will be missed by his family and friends forever! God is with him now and forever more.
