Mary Schroeder Obituary
Mary Louise Schroeder, 94, of Leipsic, passed away on her 74th wedding anniversary at 5:15 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. She was born March 30, 1931, in Leipsic, to the late Bernard C. and Lucy R. (Hoffman) Schroeder. On October 17, 1951, she married Walter J. Schroeder, who preceded her in death November 25, 2020.
She is survived by four children, Sandy (Bob) Elliott of Findlay, Jim (Karen) Schroeder of Leipsic, Lori (Karl) Streacker of Findlay and Rob (Dana) Schroeder of Monclova; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, Louis (Janie) Schroeder of Bluffton, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Alice Schroeder of Leipsic.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Steven Schroeder and Walt Schroeder Jr.; and seven siblings, Virgil (Rosemary) Schroeder, Alice (Bert) Konst, Rita (Leonard) Klausing, Oscar (Marie) Schroeder, Cyril (Gertrude) Schroeder, Donald "Smokey" Schroeder and infant Bernard Schroeder.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, its Altar Rosary Society and was a Communion Distributor for area nursing homes. Mary was an excellent baker, known for having the best pies around.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, with the Rev. Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass Monday at St. Mary's Parish Life Center, Leipsic. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, 801 Dominican Dr., Nashville, TN 37228 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org
