Mary Johnston

Mary Johnston was born October 10, 1933, in Findlay to Olive (Bear) Roller and Irvin Roller. She married Wayne Johnston on October 19, 1951, and he preceded her in death January 10, 2009. Mary passed away peacefully Thursday, March 20, 2025. Mary is survived by her son, Charles Johnston and wife, Suzanne Johnston, of Pembroke Pines, Florida; grandson, Dr. Matthew Johnston and wife, Harley of Windermere, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Alexandria and ColLin Johnston; sister, Ruth Ann Roller Nelle (deceased) of Arcadia; nephews, Chauncey Nalle, of Arcadia, and Daryl Nalle of Euclid; and niece, Cheryl Nalle of Arcadia.

Mary was a proud Liberty High School graduate in the class of 1951, Senior Class president, scholarship team, pianist, orchestra and band member, Senior Class newspaper staff editor, and a national honor society member. Mary was an insurance agent for Woodman Life Insurance. She managed with her husband, Don Wayne Tax Accounting Firm. Mary also worked at Rettig's Furniture as an executive assistant. She invested in homes and property management in the greater Findlay area. Later, branching out to Sanibel Island and Poinciana, Florida, where Mary enjoyed her retirement, and the Sunshine State with her family and friends, moving there at the age of 80 in 2013 and living there until March of 2025.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, graveside at Maple Grove Cemetery with the Reverend Bill Cook officiating.

Coldren-Crates Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
