Mary Ellen Hoppe

Mary Ellen Hoppe, 92, of Findlay, passed away at Bridge Hospice Care Center Friday, January 17, 2025. She was born August 27, 1932, in Forest, the daughter of the late Clero and Ethel (Huston) Tong. On June 1, 1957 she married Ralph Eugene Hoppe who preceded her in death, August 13, 2009.

Survivors include children, Lynn (Jeffrey) Deuitch, Laurie Hoppe and Thomas (Katherine O'Malley) Hoppe; grandchildren, Rachel Kane, McKenna Hoppe-Manns and Ryan Deuitch; great-grandchildren, Elie Kane, Caroline Kane and Joshua Kane; and beloved guinea pig, Daisy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mary was one of the original founders of "Antique Club", Findlay, where she held various titles over the years. She was also a part of Red Hat Club, CCL/Card Club, and multiple bowling leagues. She was a great cook, especially known for her rhubarb pie and an adult seamstress. Mary loved traveling, enjoying time with the family, sunsets, looking at nature and researching antiques. Her life revolved around her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay.

Memorial contributions may be directed towards St. Andrew's United Methodist Church and/or Hancock County Historical Society.
