Marion Marshall Obituary

Marion Lee Marshall

Marion Lee Marshall, 95, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, just short of his 96th birthday.

Marion is survived by his wife of 66 years, Julia (nee Rose); son, William (Patricia); and grandsons, John (Ljubinka) and James, all in the Cleveland area; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Marion served in U.S. Navy in occupied Japan and was called back for the Korean Conflict. He attended Ohio State and Bowling Green with multiple degrees in the education field. He spent most of his working years as a teacher and school administrator. After retiring as principal of Liberty-Benton High School, Marion embarked on a second career in real estate, where he owned and managed residential rental properties in Findlay. He served as Trustee for Hancock Wood Electric Coop and at various times was a member of Lions Club and Kiwanis. After moving to Cleveland to be nearer his grandchildren, Marion volunteered at the zoo as a docent, primarily at the elephant habitat. Marion was a Silver Life Master duplicate bridge player, enjoyed travel and his vegetable gardens.

A life celebration will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at his son's home in Lakewood, Ohio.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Marshall's passing. I spent a few years as a helper in his office at Liberty Benton. I enjoyed his sense of humor and was thankful that he let me work in the office. His advice (good & bad) helped me become who I am today. RIP.
