Mahlon M. Geiger

Mahlon Marvin Geiger, 88, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022. Mahlon was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Pandora, to the late Monroe and Anna (Hofstetter) Geiger. He was previously married to Phyllis Kersh and April 22, 1989, he married Anne Balmer Geiger, who survives.

Mahlon graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired as a Nationwide Insurance agent after 49 years and was also a farmer. Mahlon was a member of St. John Mennonite, Pandora, and enjoyed taking part in mission trips including Africa, Spain, France, and Alaska. He was a Pandora-Gilboa school board member and always enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and sporting events.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Geiger of Pandora; five sons, Stephen (Tauna) Geiger of Sulpher, Louisiana, Troy (Janice) Geiger of Houston, Texas, Jason (Chris) Vermillion of Arlington, Joshua (Becky) Vermillion of Carlsbad, California, and Justin (Kristin) Vermillion of St. Petersburg, Florida; and 11 grandchildren, Ryan (Shannon) Geiger, James Geiger, Samantha Geiger, Tabitha Geiger, Jaret Vermillion, Jake Vermillion, Jase Vermillion, Brett Vermillion. Trevor Vermillion, Breslyn Vermillion, and Casen Vermillion.

Mahlon was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Geiger; and three sisters, Treva Geiger, Lois Voran, and Wava Wiens.

Mahlon's memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora. Pastor Paul Perkins will be officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Mennonite Church.
