M. Evalyn Bauman

M. Evalyn Bauman, 92, of Findlay, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

Evalyn was born June 27, 1930, in Findlay, to the late Hareld and Margery (Wolford) Yoakam. She married Ray F. Bauman on May 6, 1951, and he preceded her in death Nov. 1, 2021, after 70 wonderful years of marriage.

Evalyn is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Ric) Herrold of Toledo and Kathleen Lawson of Hilliard; five grandchildren, Dhakirah (Tasnim) Hamin, Stedroy Mintas, Ray Mintas, Derek Lawson (Julie), and Natalie Lawson; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jean Metzger and Carol (Donald) Falk.

She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Margery Quinland and Patricia Bauman; and siblings, Lucille Sass, Dorothy Jean Skottegaard, James Yoakam, and Donald Yoakam.

Evalyn owned and operated Evalyn Beauty Shop and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jenera, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Evalyn was also a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Findlay. Evalyn was a founding member of Jenera Garden Club and loved working in her garden, planting flowers and vegetables. Evalyn and Ray enjoyed traveling and were all over the USA. They also spent over 30 winters in their Florida community near Sebring. Evalyn was a kind-hearted and friendly individual who never met a stranger. She devoted her time to her family and will be missed by all those who knew her.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, until the time of Evalyn's celebration of life service at 11 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 1431 6th Street, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, with Pastor David M. DePaoli officiating. Evalyn will be reunited with her loving husband, Ray, at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bridge Hospice or Concordia Lutheran Church in her memory.
