Lloma Kirian Obituary

Lloma Jean Kirian

Lloma "Jean" Kirian of Fostoria joined her family in Heaven on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024.

She was born Feb. 20, 1926, on the family farm in Napoleon to Leroy C. and Hazel R. (Saul) Riggs.

Jean married her longtime sweetheart, Howard E. "Bill" Kirian, on Oct. 28, 1945, after he had returned from serving in U.S. Army from 1941-1945. They were married at First United Methodist Church in Napoleon. Bill died Jan. 8, 2018.

She attended a little red brick schoolhouse for five years and when it closed, she went to Napoleon City School, graduating in the class of 1943.

Jean and Bill had two children, Ralph L. Kirian of Florida and Cheryl D. LaRocque (Peter) of New York. Cheryl died July 15, 2022, in Hudson Falls, New York. Jean and Bill have five grandchildren, Tami J. (Thomas) Frascatore, Ryan K. LaRocque (Roni), James M. (Marlene) Kirian, Christopher M. (Amber) Kirian, and Katherine A. Kirian, seven great-grandchildren, Joseph P. Frascatore, Grace (Erik) Prudhomme, Kay (Ryan) Dougherty, Jacob A. Frascatore, Tessa (Tanner) Tewksbury, Carter Kirian, Cole Kirian, and Avery Kirian, and eight great-great-grandchildren, Kobe, Judah, Marlee, Liesel, Rhett, Uriah, Finnleigh, and Raelynn.

Jean had five sisters, Norma Lee Ingle (Edwin)(both deceased), Geraldine L. Cline (William)(deceased), Arlene J. Adams (James)(deceased), Rita R. Kryder (George)(deceased), and Mary C. Beilharz (Kenneth), and one brother, Norman C. Riggs (Ruth)(both deceased).

Jean was employed as a floral designer, doctor's office clerk, and bookkeeper at Society Bank, from which she retired in 1985. She was an active member of Wesley United Church for many years and member of Redman Club and YMCA. Jean loved to work outside in her beautiful yard and had a green thumb for flowers and houseplants. She remembered everyone and everything in great accurate detail. She loved to read and watch ball games and kept her house impeccably clean and neat. She enjoyed her neighborhood friends and truly counted them as family, which is a great compliment because she truly lived to love and care for her family, each family member being her true pride and joy. She was a selfless, caring little lady and she will be truly missed.

Jean's celebration of life service will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at Wesley United Methodist Church. All are welcome to join us for lunch following services.

Donations can be made to Wesley United Church or American Cancer Society.
