Lisa Ward Obituary

Lisa Anne Ward

It is with saddened hearts that we had to say farewell to Lisa Anne Ward, 62, of South Bend, Indiana, on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, as she entered into eternal rest to dance with the angels.

Lisa was surrounded by loved ones while battling COPD for many years and later developed congestive heart failure. Lisa was born Sept. 30, 1961, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to Richard and Shirley (Good) Ward. Lisa enjoyed twirling baton in her younger years and went on to be a majorette leading the high school band. She attended Stautzenberger College and graduated with an Associates degree in business in 1988. Lisa managed a novelty card shop in Bowling Green and also worked as an office manager at Riverview Terrace Trailer Park in Findlay.

Lisa battled with some hardships throughout her life, losing her mother at the age of 16 and being a single parent at the age of 26. She overcame those hardships due to her free spirit, her gypsy soul, and the love of her family who were all so very close, especially her only child, Heath, whom she adored. She was a proud mama and very protective of him. He was and always will be her world. She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren when she could, who loved and will miss their "Nana" very much. She was a very adventurous lady and loved nature. Some of the many things she enjoyed doing were traveling, chasing hot air balloons, NASCAR and Indy car racing, football, hockey, camping, canoeing, putting puzzles together, and making her own jewelry. Lisa was very creative and a gem in herself and her smile could light up any room. She never left a person frowning, just by being Lisa. She loved her animals, especially her three dogs, Tex, Talula, and P.T. that stayed right by her side until the very end.

Lisa will be dearly missed by all who loved her including her son, Heath (Kari) Ward; sisters, Pam Winters and Sheryl (Jon) Rife; brothers, Rick (Monica) Ward and David (Priscilla) Ward; two grandchildren, Braxton and Maverick Ward; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives; and partner and friend, Chris Barton and his children, Tyler, Brandt, and Holly Barton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Michael and Timothy Ward; and brother-in-law, John Winters.

Lisa's celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, until the time of her brief service at 3 p.m. at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 205 W. Sandusky St., Findlay, Ohio, 45840. Pastor Robert Krueger will officiate and all are invited to attend.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Lung Association or a tree may be planted in honor of her life.
