Linda S. Murray

Linda S. Murray, 71, of Fostoria, passed away Thursday morning, March 16, 2023, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 17, 1952, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to the late Harold and Doris (Rader) Barlekamp. She married Gene P. Murray on March 23, 1974, and he survives in Fostoria.

Linda is also survived by two children, Melanie (Sean) Martin of Vanlue and Monica Murray of Fostoria; grandchildren, Josiah and Ruth Martin; sister, Myra Stalnaker of Naples, Florida; and brother, Dr. H. Curtiss Barlekamp of Perrysburg.

She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher D. Murray; and parents.

Linda was a 1970 graduate of Fostoria High School and 1974 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught kindergarten in Wellington for 18 years before returning to Fostoria with her husband, Gene.

She was beloved by her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings who cherish her in remembrance and whose life was devoted to her family and hundreds of kindergarten children whom she had wonderfully and lovingly educated over the years of her teaching.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading her bible, playing the piano, and visiting her children and babysitting her grandchildren. She was Heaven sent to our family and there she has now returned, fondly and forever loved by us all.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Linda's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary Jo Bray presiding. Burial will be at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
