Lily Ferguson

Lily Ferguson, 97, of Findlay, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Primrose Retirement Community.

She was born April 25, 1925, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late William M. and Lucy (Brock) Cook. She grew up at Junior Order United American Mechanics Lodge Home, Tiffin, with her brother and sister from the age of five. She married Hugh Ferguson on June 20, 1946, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Findlay. They were married nearly 66 years until Hugh preceded her in death June 5, 2012.

Lily is survived by their son, James (Mary) Ferguson; two daughters, Pamela (Don) Fleck and Karen (John) Wallace, all of Findlay; five grandchildren, Barbara (David) Lawrence, Brian (Susan) Fleck, Amy (Justin) Jaeger, Eric (Monica) Ferguson, and Katherine Wallace; 10 great-grandchildren she was blessed with, Samantha (Kevin) Boose, Jacob and Benjamin Lawrence, Haleigh (Bailey) Griffin and Hunter Fleck, Zachary and Kelsey Ferguson, and Tavin and Maren Jaeger; three great-great-grandchildren, Owen, Alexandra, and Sawyer Boose; and many special nieces and nephews.

Lily was also preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Cook; sister, Alice Bright; and great-granddaughter, Alexandra Lawrence.

Lily graduated from Findlay High School in 1944. Lily retired as secretary of the Plant Manager at RCA/GE in 1989. She was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Findlay.

Lily enjoyed spending time with her family and journaling about her life. She and Hugh spent many hours supporting their family by attending various concerts, programs, and sporting events.

As her family, we would like to give a special "thank you" to the caring staff at Primrose Retirement Community.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. Lily's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 935 West Bigelow Avenue, Findlay, with Pastor Denny Maurer officiating. Additional visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
