Lewis Thacker Obituary

Lewis Allen Thacker

Lewis Allen "Lew" Thacker, 79, of Forest, passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 14, 1944, to Marion Otis and Velma Viola (Riesland) Thacker. He was a 1961 graduate of Forest High School.

Lew married the love of his life, Marcella (Jane) Thacker, on June 3, 1963, and they were married for 56 years. She preceded him in death Nov. 2, 2019.

Lewis is survived by his children, Lynde Shearer of Findlay and Ty (Holly) Thacker of Forest; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Willie) Caudill of Florida; brother, Marian Jr. (Martha) of Forest; sister-in-law, Sandy Thacker of Florida; ex-son-in-law, Mark Shearer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons; and brother, Leon Thacker.

Lew was known for his mechanical work, love of cars and motorcycles, and his cats! He and his son, Ty, operated TNT Auto Service from 2000-2005. Lewis was always a hard worker, varying in careers from heavy construction, to working with his father and brothers building houses with Thacker Construction. He at one time worked at two gas stations, was a police officer, and worked at UAP. You could give him a problem and he would always find a way to fix it.

Lewis was a loving, caring man, and a go-getter. He didn't know a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. His wisdom, knowledge, and caring heart will forever be missed.

It was Lewis's wish to be cremated and there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio, 45840.
