Larry Eugene Fisher, 76, of Princeton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, February 9, 2026.
A memorial visitation for Larry will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Bunker Hill Church, located at 322 School Street, Buda, IL, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Chantha Chhim.
The Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is honored to be assisting Larry’s family.
Larry was born at home in Wyanet on August 22, 1949. He attended Tiskilwa High School, before joining the United States Army in August of 1968 – August 1970. He served as a gunner during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Roggy, on July 3, 1978. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2024.
Larry could be seen talking to everyone and making friends everywhere he would go. He was always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He loved the simple pleasures in life, listening to country music, fishing, puzzles, and puttering around his garage and being with his family. He was a retired farmhand, working for Bill Bickett Farms for many years.
Larry was the proud father of four children, Christine (Barron) Hadley, Tom Cain, and Michael Cain, all of Princeton, and Sandy (Rob) Fisher/O’Connor of Pacific, MO; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Richard (Mariele) Fisher, Elizabeth (John) Piacenti, Jerry Fisher, Sharon (Gary) Still, Barb Oneill, Bernice (Dave) Schuetz, Tom (Lezlie) Fisher, and Ron (Joyce) Roggy; along with numerous nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.
In addition to his beloved wife, Bonnie, Larry was also preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Fisher, and his father, Irvin Fisher; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tom and Rose Roggy; his brother, Dan Fisher; his sisters, Pearl Fisher, Susan Fisher, Carol Buckman, Anna Myers, and Chris Fisher; his son, Rick Fisher; and a grandson, Ryeli Cain.
