Died: September 1, 2025 in Williamsburg, IN
Kelly Sue Rick, born November 14, 1983, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2025 following a motorcycle accident, at the age of 41.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday September 9, 2025 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, and Wednesday September 10, 2025 from 10:00am-11:00am with services at 11:00am at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date.
Kelly was born November 14, 1983, in Ottawa, IL to Art and Connie (Alsvig) Rick, they survive. She had one son Grayson Rick, he survives. Also surviving is her brother Casey (Megan) Rick, and a nephew Thor Rick, and a niece Caleigh Rick, special friend Shane Johnson, and Olivia Johnson as well as her beloved aunts and uncles, and many cousins. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents Arthur T. and Helen Rick, Marvin and Geraldine Alsvig, Great Aunt Bunny Hertzner, Uncle Jocko Rick, Aunt Nancy Rick-Janis, and cousin Aaron Rick.
Kelly's life was defined by her deep love for her son Grayson, who was the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She was a devoted daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and unwavering support touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She worked for Farm Business Farm Management, and previously was a 911 operator for Grundy County and the City of Ottawa.
Kelly was a 2002 graduate of Marquette High School. Kelly cherished time spent with her family, whether it was sharing meals, celebrating milestones, or simply being together. She had a gift for making people feel loved and welcomed, and she lived with a warm spirit that drew others in. She was involved in the Naplate community and played Mrs. Clause for the children yearly. In quieter moments, Kelly enjoyed relaxing with a glass of Pinot, reflecting her appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for her son Grayson.
