Kay "Fritzi" Frances Winkeljohn

Kay Frances "Fritzi" Winkeljohn, 77, of Findlay, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Birchaven Village. She was born in Medin on November 29, 1947, the daughter of the late Hal Dauterman and Mildred (Moore) Merchant. On December 28, 1968 she married J. Theodore "Ted" Winkeljohn who survives in Findlay.

Survivors include her husband; her children, Matt Winkeljohn, of Tucson, Arizona, and Megan (Jordan) Williams, of Peoria, Arizona; three grandchildren, Marcus and Zane Winkeljohn, and Avery Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Katie and Juniper Winkeljohn; and a sister, Alex (John) Arnold, of St. Louis, Missouri.

Preceding her in death are her parents; and a brother, Mark Dauterman.

Fritzi was employed at Sun Oil Refinery in Toledo and as an administrative assistant at Marathon Oil retiring in 1988 after over 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, Findlay Country Club, and 50 North. She enjoyed playing bridge with the ladies in her bridge club and was on several United States Tennis Association championship teams. Fritzi was also a volunteer at St. Michael Catholic School, helping the youth, and taught literacy at Hancock County library. She loved music of all kinds, roller coasters, and traveling to her favorite places.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. March 10, 2025, at Birchaven Chapel in Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, Ohio 45840. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at Birchaven Chapel. Burial will be private at St. Michael Cemetery.
