Karolyn Allen of Findlay passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Karolyn was born May 30, 1946, in Galesville, Wisconsin, to Alice and George Youle. Karloyn graduated from Gale-Ettrick High School in 1963 and attended Lacrosse University before enrolling as a flight attendant for North Central Airlines. Based in Detroit, she traveled the country with her mother before marrying Wayne, who she met in Detroit. After many years as an incredible mom, Karolyn re-entered the workforce and became top salesperson in both clothing and jewelry sales at various retail establishments.

Karolyn's life revolved around her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and "Nana," and looked forward to any time she could spend with her children, sister, grandchild, and cherished friends. Her family and friends were her 'world' and loved her for how much she cared about others. In addition to being a wife, mother, and amazing friend, she spent over 10 years as a CASA volunteer, serving as an advocate for children in abusive households. She was one of the most active people alive, spending her time at the gym, walking, riding her bike, and on the golf course. Karolyn's energy was infectious. She was a pillar of strength, fighter, and her will to live became obvious in her last few years.

Karolyn is survived by her sister, Sue; two children, Kari (Steve) and Scott (Bre); and granddaughter, the light of her life, Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; and brother, Mick.

Visitation will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Bright Road. Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be 2:30 p.m. with Father Adam Hertzfeld officiating. In celebration of Karolyn, the family has requested guests dress in bright colors for the services.
