Karen Hilty Obituary
Karen Ann Hilty, 63, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer and is now free of pain and is now in the arms of Jesus.
Karen was born Dec. 19, 1960, in Bluffton, to Herman G. and Myrtle Gay (Miller) Hilty.
Karen graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School. She worked at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora, for 15 years as a nurse's aide, housekeeper, and in laundry. She was a member of Pandora Missionary Church. Karen had a love for children and the elderly. She loved to clean homes for the elderly and would babysit for friends and family. Her love for others was contagious. Her smile would light up the room and she always had a kind word to bless others with. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and was always excited to see her nieces and nephews and her great-nieces and great-nephews. Karen had a strong faith in Jesus and even in difficult days, she was trusting in Him. She will be greatly missed!
Karen's survivors include her siblings, Rolland Hilty of New Paris, Sheila (Steve) Harrigan of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Craig (Sarah) Hilty of Pandora, Elaine Basinger of Pandora, and Steve (Brenda) Hilty of Pandora; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman G. and Myrtle Gay Hilty; and brother-in-law, Brion Basinger.
Karen's services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Pandora Missionary Church with Pastor Matt Steiner officiating. Burial will be private at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora, following the service. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pandora Missionary Church.
