June Schwemley Obituary

June O. Schwemley

June O. Schwemley, 89, formerly of Carey and Upper Sandusky, peacefully passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, at Palm Gardens Nursing Home in Clearwater, Florida.

June was born Dec. 20, 1933, in Greenup, Kentucky, the daughter of Horace E. "H.E." and Mary A. (Wright) Sizemore. She married and later divorced Robert Schwemley. He preceded her in death in Jan., 2021.

June graduated from Carey High School in 1952. While raising her three children, she furthered her education at Northern Virginia Community College and Pitt Community College in Greenville, North Carolina, and became a certified medical assistant in 1979. She worked in northern Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and Ohio in the medical field. She retired in 1995 from Dr. Thomas Vail's office in Columbus.

June was a longtime member of Community Christian Center, Upper Sandusky, and was a believer in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A beautiful person inside and out, June was beloved by everyone's life she touched. She had a great sense of humor and a laugh everyone knew and loved.

June loved spending time with her family. She made every holiday special with her family. Decorating her home and baking cookies and cakes will be fond memories for her children and grandchildren. Walking on a beach and feeling the ocean breeze were two of her favorite things, next to her family.

June will be missed by her children, Scott (Teddi) Schwemley of Clearwater, Florida, Greg (Linda) Schwemley of Oldsmar, Florida, and Jill (Dan) Schwemley-Calhoun of Greenville, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Bryan (Brittany) Schwemley, Brandon (Kaylee) Schwemley, and Kristen (David) Foley; five great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Grant, Nora, Coen, and Maverick Schwemley; sister, Carol (Larry) Cole of Findlay; and sister in-law, Sara Sizemore of Carey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Charlene Fuller, Betty Bland, and Janet Toland; and brother, Carl Sizemore.

A private family graveside service will take place in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. A celebration of life of June's life will be at a later date at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.

Aunt June was one of the kindest & most wonderful people that I have ever known. She was soo good to my Mother & loved her family very much. She never missed sending me a birthday card & sweet gift since I was a little girl no matter where she lived in the world! I love her soo much & will forever remember her kind heart & her joyous laugh. Goodbye my sweet Aunt! Say Hi to all of our Sizemore family up there in heaven! I´m sure they will throw you a big party! Love you, Toni oxo

I was so shocked and saddened to see June's obituary this morning. June and I had many good times together from the time we were children and through our growing up years. So sad to lose another cousin.
