Judith Collins Obituary

Judith Ann Collins

Judith Ann Collins, 82, died Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Westbrook Assisted Living in Upper Sandusky.

She was born September 25, 1942, in Carey to Merle Everett and Gertrude Vivian (Reynolds) Turner and was a lifetime Carey resident until moving to Westbrook in 2020. She married Marvin E. Collins on May 26, 1962, and he died April 23, 2002.

Surviving are son, Mark E. (Tammy) Collins of Galion; and daughter, Diane K. (Charles "Jack") Critchet of Fountain Hills, Arizona. Also surviving are son-in-law and widower of daughter Janet, Ed Coy of Norwalk, as well as grandchildren, (Mark's children) Tyler, Sierra and Mark II Collins and (daughter Janet's children) Katherine, David and Andrew Hall. Also, surviving is one great-grandson, Killian; great-granddaughter, Amira; a special cousin, Penny Musgrave; and her good friend, Shirley Snyder. The family is grateful to Shirley for visiting her Sunday morning.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda (Turner) Pinkerton, who passed away December 16, 2001; her husband, Marvin; her daughter, Janet E. who passed away July 29, 2016; her son-in-law and father of three grandchildren, Tom Hall, who passed away February 9, 2002.

Judy graduated from Carey High School in 1960 and attended Tiffin School of Business. She was a homemaker after being married and raising their three children in rural Carey. She had been an active member of Carey Memorial Evangelical Church (formerly Memorial United Methodist Church) and its United Methodist Women. She previously served as church secretary, trustee, and co-chair of pastor/parish relations. Judy thoroughly enjoyed her volunteer work, opening her home to Christmas parties, committee meetings, and family celebrations, all of which were important to her. She built a home in Carey's Snyder Park after her husband passed and enjoyed the oversight of the project.

She would want us to know she expects to be at her place in heaven, chosen by God. Her prayers were for family and friends to understand the benefits of a life filled with faith and hope.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Carey Memorial Evangelical Church, 229 E. Findlay St., Carey, Ohio 43316, the Rev. Cynthia Morrison officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted with Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey.
