Jonathan Poland Obituary

Jonathan Phillip "Jon" Poland

An era has ended as the King of Peanut Brittle has passed away. Jonathan Phillip "Jon" Poland, 68, of Findlay, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

He was born May 28, 1955, to Maurice and Patricia (Phillips) Poland. He married the love of his life, Lauralyn "Laurie" (Brumbaugh) Poland, on May 5, 1990, and continued to spoil her every day of his life.

Jon is survived by his wife; children, Renee Faith (Erica) Warner Poland, Ashley Flores, and Henry Ray Flores; grandchildren, Adam Flores, Jackson Flores, and Bennett Flores; brother, Tim (Gerri Glass) Poland; sister, Anne (Jim) Bernot; sister-in-law, Charla (Nick) Ulrich; nephews, Michael Bernot and Zach Ulrich; and nieces, Ali (Abby) Ulrich, and Tori Ulrich.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gabriel William Poland; and niece, Katherine "Katie" Bernot.

Jon was a graduate of Findlay High School. He worked for over 30 years at RCA and was one of the last people to leave the building when they closed. He retired in 2018. He was known for his Positively Perfect Peanut Brittle that he shared with family and friends every Christmas. He loved bourbon, Pittsburgh Steelers, cooking, gardening, traveling, and sharing a good story. Jon was a devoted member of Cedar Creek Church in Findlay, where he enjoyed being a part of the First Impressions Team greeting church members as they arrived. Jon was a good, kind, Christian man that loved his family.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, and 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, until the time of Jon's funeral at 11 a.m., all at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay. Jon's adopted brother, Reg Routson, will preside. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.

Contributions in Jon's name may be shared with Hope House, 1800 N. Blanchard St. #106, Findlay, Ohio, 45840.

I am so very saddened to see that Jon is no longer with us. However God has him in his care. Such a happy person Jon was. He always had a smile on his face...He made a difference and will be missed.
