Jon Parker Obituary
Jon "Bubba" Parker, 59, of Lima passed away at 4:35 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 5, 1963, in Lima, to Darold H. and Sandra R. (Gardner) Parker of Harrod. He married Sherri A. Gould who survives.
Bubba was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, hiking, and kayaking. He also enjoyed singing karaoke and riding his Ohio State golf cart around Sun Valley Campgrounds so he could visit with everyone. He was known for his love for everyone, big beautiful smile, twinkle in his eyes, and even playing the perfect Santa at Christmas for the children in the family.
His greatest love was being with the extended Parker Farm family and many friends. He was a farmer with the family and also worked at Metokote, Rockwell in Kenton, and ODOT. Jon was a member of Harrod United Methodist Church and an Ohio State fan.
Additional family members include four children, Jared Parker and Danielle Parker, both of Harrod, Kaitlin Knerr of Lima, and Krystina Knerr of Findlay; three grandchildren, Lydia Foust, Halynn Hawk, and Harlow Hawk; three brothers, Brian (Rhonda) Parker of Harrod, Joel (Liz) Parker of Elida, and Devin (Debra) Parker of Harrod; mother-in-law, Dorothy Swick of Elida; and several nieces and nephews.
Jon's memorial service will be 5 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, with Chaplain Herb Wilker officiating.
Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Tailgating is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Harrod Community Center or Harrod Fire & Rescue.

My heart breaks for the Parker family, not just for Bubba´s passing but the circumstances surrounding it. I truly wish things had gone differently, for everyone.
Jon raised Jared and Danielle to be kind, loving, and light-hearted. He loved them fiercely and I know they will miss him every day for the rest of their lives. You would be hard-pressed to find a man who loves his kids more than Jon loves Jared and Danielle.
Bubba was such an amazing person and second dad to me, letting me come in and out of his home growing up. I cherish those memories of hanging out and going over to the farm. The Parkers are such an amazing and wonderful family, I know they are feeling broken to lose such an integral piece of them.
