John Stockdale Obituary
John R. "Bob" Stockdale, 74, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at Blanchard Valley hospital following a brief battle with stage 4 bladder cancer.
He was born Feb. 15, 1949, in Delaware, Ohio, to John H. and Helen (Pummell) Stockdale. He married Connie S. (Hile) Stockdale. They were together for 49 years and she survives.
John is also survived by his sons, John E. (Summer) Stockdale of Sheffield Village and Jerry L. (Jenny) Peterson and James C. Peterson, both of Findlay; grandchildren, Kaylee and Carter Stockdale, Zoe Harr, Morgan (Kyle) Major, Chelsey Peterson, and Zoey R. Peterson; great-grandsons, Cashton and Kingston Major; sister, Candy (Norman) Duffman of Jenera, Susan Armbrecht of Findlay, and Jan (Mike) Repine of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, June (Mark) Merchant of Woodville; brother-in-law, Ernest (Lois) Hile of Findlay; brother-in-law, Bruce (Brenda) Hile of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen; sister, Fran (Bollinger) Butler Phillips; nephew, John W. Duffman; great-niece, Rachel DeWeese; in-laws, Ernest and Wanda (Nivision) Hile; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Al) Farabaugh; and brother-in-law, Ed Armbrecht.
John was very proud to have been an Army veteran who went on the Flag City Honor Flight in 2022. John wore several hats as a drywaller, truck driver, news carrier for The Courier during the pandemic, and most recently a stocker at Walmart.
COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, has been entrusted with John's care and per his wishes, there will be no service or visitation.
A family graveside service will be later this year.

To John's (Bob's) Family, We were so very sorry to hear of the loss of spouse, father and grandfather. It is so sad to lose a beloved family member anytime in this part of spending precious moments together.
