Jerry Staley Obituary
Jerry L. Staley, 90, of Findlay, died at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Fox Run Manor, Findlay.
He was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Arlington, to Elmer and Geneva (Orwick) Staley. He married Janice Kimmel on May 20, 1952, just shy of 71 years together and she survives.
Jerry is also survived by two sons, Jeff (Becky) Staley of Westerville and Jim (Penny) Staley of Merrillville, Indiana; two daughters, Dottie (Brad) Musgrave of Wadsworth and Beth (Mark) Waltermire of Arlington; 12 grandchildren, Kim Friedmann, Karrie Walters, Brittany Hunter, Aubree Rhoad, Collin Barnett, Brenan Waltermire, Erin Batt, Jack Staley, Dan Staley, Melissa Matthews, Nate Staley, and Alisha Newman; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Staley.
Jerry was a 1951 graduate of Arlington High School and attended Ohio Wesleyan University. He retired after 30 years in banking in his home town of Arlington and continued serving on Mid Am Board of Directors.
He enjoyed golfing and fishing and spent 10 years racing in BMW competitions as well as instructing other drivers. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and eating out for lunch every day.
All services will be private for the family with interment at Arlington Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay.

My sympathy goes out to the entire Staley family.
He may have only been 90, but I remember a 100 years ago, sitting around listening to he and Jeff sing and play music. So much love and laughter in that house!

Jerry was a great friend of mine thru my 4 years as Football coach at Arlington from 1969-1973. He was always an encourager and supporter of me as a young coach. We had some fun times with Jan and Jerry in social settings as well. They were both such nice people and to be around. Jerry can be proud of the great kids he had, all of them turned out well. Everyone in Arlington knew Jerry because he was their banker and their friend! I'm so grateful to have known him!

To The Entire Staley Family, especially Jan as my Mom called you - or " Mrs. Staley" as I called ya - just to make you smile - -Linda and I are so saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. I have many memories: his guitar skills, vacations together - and of course you 6 parents' (with Bob and Norma) watching the Football Red Devils 1969-1972! I will NOT forget him playing and laughing at Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant! Celebrate his 90 great years of living!!
