Janis Shultz Obituary

Janis E. Shultz

Janis Evelyn Shultz, of Findlay, passed away at Blanchard Valley Hospital in the early morning hours of Monday, September 8, 2025, at the age of 91.

She was born August 29, 1934, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Wilbur and Evelyn (Saunders) Street. Janis married the love of her life, Robert J. Shultz, in August 1956.

Janis graduated from Hanover-Toboso High School in Newark, Ohio. She enjoyed volunteering at Blanchard Valley Medical Associates (BVMA) gift shop and was a member of the Garden Club of Findlay. Janis was a homemaker who had a gift for making every moment special, always up for a get-together with friends and family. Her passion was baking and cooking meals for family and friends. Her generous spirit, kind heart and unwavering devotion to family were the foundations of her life. She was the glue that held our family together. Her laughter and presence will be missed more than words can express, but her legacy will live on in every meal shared, every recipe passed down and every moment of togetherness she so lovingly created.

Left behind to cherish Janis's memory is her loving husband, Robert of 69 years; her beloved children, David (Sue) Shultz of Brunswick, Dennis (Judy) Shultz of Wadsworth, Tim Shultz of Findlay, and Tracy (Mike) Gershom of Wadsworth; her grandchildren that brought her so much joy, Nicole Burnside of Northfield, Amanda Shultz of Rittman, Jeffrey Shultz, of Wadsworth, and John Gershom of Charleston, South Carolina; and was blessed with four great-grandchildren. In addition, she is also survived by her brother, Robert (Cindy) Street of Newark.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Shultz; sister, Sue Nethers, and daughter-in-law, Cindy Shultz.

In accordance with Janis's wishes, there will be no services. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500), is honored to serve Janis's family.

I only met Janis a few times in person... I'm friends with her son... But she was the sweetest lady
and we exchanged our own canned goods a time or two.
I'm sure she'll be missed by many.
